Sexual Assault Prosecutor Instructor

Recruitment Announcement



The Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force, Sexual Assault Training Institute (SATI), is seeking applications for prosecutor instructors with expertise in victim-centered prosecution of sexual assault cases. SATI currently has active and sworn law enforcement officers, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Prosecutors, and Victim Advocates on its faculty.  SATI was recently awarded a STOP VAWA grant to conduct cross training for law enforcement and prosecutors from July 2013 until July 2015.  Prosecutor instructors will also be utilized for SANE training, advocate training, prosecutor training, and others as needed.



Qualified applicants will have a minimum of five years of experience as a prosecutor and experience prosecuting adolescent and adult sexual assault (above and beyond child sex abuse).  Preference will be given to applicants who also have experience providing instruction, conducting training and/or public speaking.  Qualified applicants must complete and pass a criminal history check, and will participate in an interview and selection process.  Selected individuals will be offered a contract with SATI to provide paid services.  Instructors are paid at a rate of $50/hour for training delivery, $25/hour for preparation and planning, and $20/hour for travel.



Instructors will be expected to participate in curriculum development and reviews, and instructor workdays, as well as attend and assist in the delivery of trainings.  The SATI anticipates that instructors will be needed for approximately 40 hours a year. Additional trainings may be scheduled at which time trainers may be contracted on a per training basis.
