RESOURCE: Economic Security for Survivors Project (from Wider Opportunities for Women):

If you aren't familiar with "WOW" or one of its many projects, the Economic Security for Survivors Project, I would urge you to take a minute or two to peruse their website and the newsletter link below. This group (and project) looks at Domestic and Sexual Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking through the lens of economic abuse and insecurity and provides very interesting and gripping information. Additionally, they have fantastic (practical) resources for prosecutors, law enforcement, advocates, and other professionals who work with victims and survivors.

(First paragraph from recent newsletter)

Cost of Childcare and Economic Security:

The cost of childcare is a rising concern for low and middle income families. For survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking who have children, the high cost of childcare and raising children can be a significant obstacle. It may impact their ability to leave an abusive relationship, relocate to become free from a stalker, or pursue justice and health care to recover from an act of violence.
