The Multnomah County Domestic Violence Coordination Office and Portland State University's Criminal Justice Policy Research Institute are pleased to announce an exciting training opportunity with Dr. Jacquelyn C. Campbell. Please join us for this special event to learn from Dr. Campbell, a national expert on assessing levels of danger and risk in relationships involving intimate partner violence.

Date: Thursday, February 20th, 2014
Time: Check-in is from 8:30am - 9:00am & the training will run from 9:00am - 12:00pm
(Please be sure to arrive promptly and be seated by 9am)
Location: The Ambridge Event Center (in the Ambridge Rose Ballroom)

Parking: The Ambridge Event Center is accessible via public transportation.
For those driving, parking is available on-site for an estimated cost of $5.00.

We are happy to be able to offer this training opportunity free of charge. In order to do so, we are unable to provide refreshments. You are welcome to bring your own self-contained beverage. Thank you.

Dr. Jacquelyn Campbell's biography:

Jacquelyn Campbell, PhD, RN is the Anna D. Wolf Chair and a Professor in the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing with a joint appointment in the Bloomberg School of Public Health as well as being the National Program Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Nurse Faculty Scholars program. Since 1980, Dr. Campbell has been conducting advocacy policy work and research in the area of violence against women and women's health, publishing more than 220 articles and seven books. She has been Principal Investigator on 10 major NIH, NIJ or CDC research grants and Co-Chaired the Steering Committee for the WHO Multi-country Study on Violence Against Women and Women's Health. Her honors include election as a member of the Institute of Medicine and membership on its Board of Global Health, three honorary doctorates, election to the American Academy of Nursing, chairing the Board of Directors of the Family Violence Prevention Fund, and receiving the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research Pathfinder and the American Society of Criminology Vollmer Awards. Dr. Campbell also was a member of the congressionally appointed US Department of Defense Task Force on Domestic Violence and served on the Board of Directors of the House of Ruth Battered Women's Shelter and three other shelters.
