Good Morning,
The link below is to an article about how a Salt Lake City agency is using research about trauma to overhaul how it investigates sexual assault. As you know, Ashland PD and other Oregon agencies have or will soon be utilizing similar techniques to improve their investigations. While this article focuses on sexual assault, the methods are completely applicable to domestic violence and other types of investigations, as well.
I'm excited that we will be learning about a lot of these methods at the upcoming ODAA DV Training with Chief Strand!

Quote from the Salt Lake City (elected DA): "The biggest challenge we have is the complacency of our institutional biases. We get comfortable with our practices and that becomes our reality.
We have to move away from the old model," he says. "This will require buy-in at all levels."
