National Crime Victims' Rights Week
Sexual Assault Victim Rights Across Campus, Civil, and Criminal Justice Systems

[poster for event]<http://www.pdx.edu/wrc/sites/www.pdx.edu.wrc/files/National%20Crime%20Victims%20Rights%20Week%20Event%20-%20Final%20Version.pdf>
Sexual assault survivors are often in the position of navigating multiple systems in response to an assault. For example, a crime victim may simultaneously be a student, a victim/witness in a criminal complaint based on the same incident, and a petitioner seeking civil protective orders against the respondent
This seminar will address strategies for service providers to effectively support implementing a survivor-centered response to sexual assault crime victims' rights across campus, civil, and criminal justice systems.
Attorney General Rosenblum will open the event, followed by a panel of local experts including:

  * Rod Underhill, Multnomah County District Attorney
  * Meg Garvin, Executive Director of the National Crime Victim Law Institute
  * Phil Zerzan, Chief of PSU Campus Public Safety
  * Stacy Hankin, Attorney at Victim Rights Law Center
  * Julie Caron, PSU Title IX Coordinator
  * Letitia Wilson, Executive Director of Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence
Who should attend: prosecutors, criminal justice based advocates; community advocates; law, pre-law, criminology, public health, social work, public administration students, and anyone interested in learning more about crime victims' rights will benefit from this seminar.
