Statewide Sexual Assault Law Enforcement & Prosecutor Training

March 11-13, 2019 / Pendleton, OR
Venue: Tamastslikt Cultural Institute
NO CHARGE FOR REGISTRATION.




You are invited to register for Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force's Statewide Law Enforcement & Prosecutor Training, the last in this series, held in Pendleton, March 11-13, 2019. The training’s materials and presentations, delivered through a trauma-informed lens, will focus on improving our understanding and handling of sexual violence crimes and their impact on victims and survivors.

This is a cross-training event created for both Law Enforcement and Prosecutors. This two and a half day training will equip participants to implement new and emerging techniques and best practices in sexual assault investigation and prosecution. Following the training, participants will have access to ongoing technical assistance. CEUs will be offered.

Travel Scholarships are available: Limited travel scholarships to cover mileage, per diem and lodging, are available. Priority will be given to participants from rural and frontier-based agencies. If you wish to apply for a scholarship, you must complete the scholarship portion of the registration. Thank you to Oregon DOJ for providing our STOP VAWA grant which allows us to offer scholarships and this training free of charge.

Training Topics Include: Sexual Assault Investigation, Response & Prosecution, Sexual Assault Dynamics, Trauma-Informed Interviewing Techniques, Report Writing, Overcoming the Consent Defense, Medical Forensic Exam, Motions and Expert Witnesses, Self-Care, Skill Building and more.

Moving from Awareness to Comprehensive Prevention: Statewide Training

JUNE 17-19, 2019 / John Day, OR
NO CHARGE FOR REGISTRATION.




SATF’s Comprehensive Prevention Training is informed by national evidence for effective prevention of interpersonal, sexual, gender-based, and other forms of violence, as well as Oregon-specific best-practice implemented by Oregon prevention practitioners and statewide collaborations. As a result of attending this two-and-a-half-day training, participants will be better prepared to implement comprehensive, effective prevention efforts in their communities, institutions, systems, and schools.

Who is this training for: Preventionists from Community Based, Culturally-Specific, and Tribal Programs, Campus Practitioners, Student Leaders, Educators and School Administrators, and other folks throughout Oregon implementing or wanting to implement effective prevention efforts rooted in best-practice.




This training covers topics such as: Models and Theories of Prevention, Anti-Oppression and Prevention, Healthy Relationships and Sexuality Promotion, Evaluation of Prevention, Intersections of Response and Prevention, Community and Participant Leadership, Prevention Facilitation Strategies, Action Planning, and more!

Participants will leave with: Tangible Tools to Inform their Prevention Efforts, Resources to Enhance their Practice, and Connections to Participate in Ongoing Learning and Support.
