<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=069550316-24062011>I have attached two
items to this email. The first is a "Save The Date" for an upcoming series of
<STRONG><U>FREE </U></STRONG>trainings meant for <STRONG>JUDGES and COURT
STAFF</STRONG> only. The training is sponsored by the Oregon Firearms
and Domestic Violence Task Force. The training will be presented in five
regional areas of the state (listed on the "Save The Date") and will focus
on general DV information, the link between DV and firearms, necessary
data entry, and the use of appropriate forms and forms completion for
future firearms dispossession. </SPAN></FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=069550316-24062011>Additionally, the
training will cover the Model Domestic Violence Firearm Surrender Protocol that
was developed by the Task Force <EM>(attached).</EM> I have previously sent out
the Protocol to all elected DAs. The Protocol has also been sent to all
judges, all trial court administrators, and to all the Sheriffs in the state.
There are three counties in the state that are currently using some form of the
Protocol. Obviously, the hope is for each county to use the Protocol or a
modification thereof. Please take a few minutes to look over the Protocol.
If you have questions about it, there are contact numbers on the cover letter or
you can email me, as well. </SPAN></FONT></DIV>

you are not eligible for the training, I am sending the
information out on the listserv for you to share with those judges and
court staff who might be interested (or who you feel might benefit from such a
training). </SPAN></FONT></DIV>
