Hello, board members!
Please see below for information about two upcoming training opportunities for board members. Please note that the training this Wednesday was originally scheduled for last week. I previously sent out a reminder with updated information via our board member
listserv, but I failed to highlight the date change. So, several people arrived on Friday not knowing about the new date. I apologize for the confusion I caused and hope you all will be able to join us this Wednesday instead.
Some other things to know (based on frequently asked questions)
Neither of these are required training for board members. Our team is working to offer more training opportunities in response to requests we’ve gotten for more of this kind of support, but it’s all optional.Although it is not required, it is strongly recommended that board members complete the public meetings law training at least once during your term of service. There have been recent changes to public meetings
law which board members are individually responsible for understanding and upholding.
If you are unable to make the public meetings law training on December 4th, it’s possible to sign up for other sessions of this training at the OGEC training webpage. That page can be found here:
Oregon Government Ethics Commission : Training : Training : State of Oregon. The open sessions are filling up very quickly, so we wanted to offer a special opportunity for our board members
to get this information. However, if you sign up directly through the OGEC you will get the same great content!
Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or support needs!
Thanks,
Brandy
