of questions about why ODE decided to calibrate some ELPA items and rescore
ELPA tests this year. At our request, our test vendor, American
Institutes for Research, has provided the attached ELPA Rescore Memo.
This memo contains technical details about the changes to ELPA this year and
the reasons for rescoring ELPA tests. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>We know that this information is technical and hard to
understand and AIR has attempted to provide this information as clearly as
possible. However, the memo remains a technical explanation and will not
be much use in stakeholder communications. For those of you wishing to
communicate with parents or community members about the ELPA rescore, we have
provided a sample parent message in both English and Spanish. Please feel free
to use this as a basis for your communications with parents and community members
on this topic. Again, this is just a template for a parent/community
message and you may edit or adjust it as you see fit to best meet the needs of
your community.<o:p></o:p></p>
