 *   FY 2008 – FY 2009 Funding Status.  Wave 10 for FY 2009 and a small Wave 58 for FY 2008 will both be released this week.  Funding for FY 2009 is still for Priority 1 services only.  A final decision on 87% Priority 2 funding for FY 2008 has still not been made.
 *   Comments on ESL for FY 2010.  Comments submitted last week on the proposed Eligible Services List focused primarily on administrative fees, e-mail archiving, Internet2, software licenses, VoIP, unbundled warranties, and Web hosting.


 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.



    *   Two new bills were introduced in Congress to mandate free meal program enrollment for certain disadvantaged students, and to make E-rate available nationwide for Head Start.
    *   An FCC appeal and supporting comments by E-Rate Central were filed to address a variety of E-rate issues involving multi-location schools.
    *   Senate confirmed the nomination of the new FCC Chairman and a re-appointment of an existing Commissioner.  The President nominated two others to fill Commission vacancies.
    *   The DOJ reached a settlement with Dallas schools related to earlier procurement fraud issues to relinquish over $150 million in pending requests.
    *   July 1st remains a critical date for technology plan approvals.


 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief Dated June 26th.   The SLD’s most recent News Brief continued with a list answers to the question “What Should I Be Doing This Summer” — this time for service providers.
