Registration for the USAC 2009 Fall training in Portland is still open! You will probably not be able to get their room rate at this late of date, but it looks like there may still be spots available. I strongly encourage those of you who can make it to register TODAY. Also, I will be presenting the Oregon Department of Education’s annual e-Rate Training on Tuesday the 20th at 2:00pm, so those of you who can’t make it to the USAC training can attend that one via videoconference. You are of course also welcome to attend both trainings if you wish. You can also view the ODE training via streaming video both during the presentation and afterward. There will be more information about those options as it becomes available.

The training materials for the ODE training are attached to this message and should also be available on the web today or tomorrow. Please let me know if you have any questions about either training.

 *   SLD Fall E-Rate Training – Part 3.  This week’s article reviews the evolving SLD procedures for correcting E-rate applications during PIA review.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  As discussed in the last SLD News Brief, October 28th and 29th are key program deadlines.  The 6th and 7th of the SLD’s eight fall workshops will be held this week.  Mandatory electronic payments by USAC, when initially implemented, will not apply to BEAR payments.  The FCC released two requests for comments dealing with the costs of broadband deployment.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated October 9th.   Last week’s News Brief reviews the key deadlines for FY 2008 invoicing and FY 2009 Form 486s.
