 *   Funding Status.  The SLD announced that the application window for FY 2011 will open January 11th and close March 24th.  Wave 29 for FY 2010 will be released this week.
 *   Gifts vs. Donations.  The FCC’s new E-rate rules include strict prohibitions on gifts from service providers to applicant employees, but are not clear as to the treatment of donations.  Public disclosure and other procedures can be used to minimize the risks of making or accepting donations.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  Applications for the EDU2011 pilot wireless Internet access program are due December 17, 2010.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated December 10.  This week's News Brief outlines the use of Consultant Registration Numbers (“CRNs”).
