 *   Funding Status.  Wave 21 for FY 2010 will be released this week.
 *   FCC E-Rate Order – Awaiting Clarification.  A number of new rules and forms expected for FY 2011 require additional clarification that may be proved in an "Errata," in guidance from USAC, and/or in additional FCCC orders.  Key issues include gift rules, unbundled warranties, non-carrier fiber services, the pilot Internet wireless program, the definition and registration of consultants, and a new CIPA requirement.
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  There are two key E-rate deadlines in October. The SLD's fall training program is underway.  Verizon Wireless will be issuing small credits and refunds.  The FCC financial system is blacked out until October 18th.  The Supreme Court will hear arguments re. FOIA personal privacy exemptions for AT&T seeking to keep E-rate data secret.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated October 8.  This News Brief, a third in a series, reviews steps that service providers should be undertaken to complete FY 2009 and to work on FY 2010.
