 *   Funding Status.  Wave 23 for FY 2010 will be released this week.
 *   Gift Prohibitions – Part 1.  Although the new FCC E-rate rules will  impose federal agency restrictions on gifts, the SLD had already begun enforcing gifting prohibitions based on state and local rules and on the broader provisions of the existing competitive bidding rules
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  The first FY 2009 invoicing and FY 2010 Form 486 deadlines are this week.  Last week's FCC decision addressed entity changes for funding commitments.  OMB approved new versions of Form 470 and Form 471, but minor changes may still be required to align the forms with the new rules.  OMB is also reviewing new forms for the implementation of the new EDU wireless Internet pilot program.  The SLD's fall training program is nearly completed.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated October 22.  This week's News Brief reviews the eligibility requirements for E-rate applicants and service providers.
