 *   Funding Status.  Wave 61 for FY 2010 and Wave 8 for FY 2011 are scheduled for this week.  The FCC announced another 0.9% inflation adjustment, raising the FY 2011 funding cap to $2.29 billion.
 *   FCC Updates CIPA Rules.  The FCC released a new CIPA Order implementing the educational requirements of the Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act.  The new Internet Safety Policy provisions become effective as of FY 2012.
 *   Gates Foundation's "Fiber Lateral Builds" Proposal.  The Gates Foundation filed a proposal with the FCC for the funding of "last mile" fiber connections to schools and libraries outside of the E-rate program..
 *   E-Rate Updates and Reminders.  The FCC issued three decisions granting appeals on several competitive bidding issues.  E-rate training will be available this fall beginning next month.
 *   Schools and Libraries News Brief dated August12.  Last week's News Brief discusses the SLD's HATS outreach program.
