<div><font size="3">This is an update to the Significant Disproportionality notice sent to district and ESD Special Education directors on Tuesday, March 31, 2009. </font></div>

<div><font size="3">Oregon's formula for significant disproportionality in the least restrictive environment (LRE) has been amended. <div><font size="3">The amendment now includes the minimum size (10) for students across all other race/ethnicity categories by setting LRE. By incorporating this amendment, a district will not be triggered for disproportionality in a single racial/ethnic category of
students unless there are at least 10 students of other races in that setting. Further questions may be directed to your county contact. </font></div>
