<div><font size="3">The Office of Student Learning & Partnerships is pleased to be mailing procedural safeguards booklets. These booklets describe the rights and procedural safeguards for parents, for children aged birth to five, and for students from K-18
and students ages 18-21. In general, these rights and procedural safeguards are to be given to parents and students pursuant to Oregon law and rules and the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act as amended in 2004 (IDEA 2004, PL 108-446) and
its regulations.</font></div>

<div><font size="3">New federal regulations allow the parents of students with disabilities to revoke consent for their child to receive special education or related services at any time after the granting of consent. The Department believes that the language
in the prior version of the Procedural Safeguards Notice adequately informs parents of their current right to revoke consent; therefore, the language has remained unchanged in the current version. If you have any questions concerning the rights of parents
to revoke consent for the provision of special education and related services or the related duties of school districts, the local school district special education director will be able to assist you. </font></div>
