Today the American Academy of Pediatrics released their Sleep-Related Infant Deaths: Updated 2022 Recommendations for Reducing Infant Deaths in the Sleep Environment<https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article/138/5/e20162938/60309/SIDS-and-Other-Sleep-Related-Infant-Deaths-Updated?autologincheck=redirected>. These guidelines are often at the center of preventing sleep-related infant deaths.

The National Center is pleased to partner with the AAP to release a new Quick-Look on Sleep Related Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID)<https://ncfrp.org/center-resources/quick-looks/>. More than 28,000 infant deaths entered into the National Fatality Review-Case Reporting System by Child Death Review teams were analyzed to highlight the common factors surrounding SUID deaths. These data demonstrate the power of fatality review and the unique lens it offers into how and why children die.

The National Center could not do our work without the dedicated support of local, state, and federal partners. Most notably, local and state fatality review teams who review, enter, and work tirelessly to prevent future deaths.
