Learn how to objectively investigate child death cases particularly when the cause and manner of death is unexplained. Examine investigative mindset from initial call-out to case resolution and learn how to gain an understanding of what happens with a victim-centered approach, exploring the emotional trauma of the non-offending caregiver. Discuss possible causes of death and best practices and tips including various investigative steps for evidence collection, witness and suspect interviews. This basic course offers law enforcement, CPS, and other child death investigators up-to-date practices for the investigation of child deaths.

What do families need to thrive?

Oregon’s 5-year maternal, child, and adolescent health (MCAH) needs assessment is underway, and we need your help!  The survey linked below will help us better understand the health needs of women, children, youth, and families, including those with special health needs, and determine priorities for Oregon’s MCAH programs for the next five years.

Whether you work in a state or local agency, with a community-based organization, or are a family member yourself – your perspective is important, and we want to hear from you!

If you choose to complete the entire survey, it will take about 30 minutes. You can skip any sections that do not apply to you; each section takes about 4 - 5 minutes to complete. Your answers to the survey are anonymous and no one can link your specific answers to you.
