Dear fatality review colleagues,

The National Center, in partnership with Boulder Insight Group, will once again be offering training courses for Microsoft Excel to ensure access to and analytic ability of the National Fatality Review Case Reporting System (NFR-CRS) data.

Courses will begin the week of February 4th. Specific dates and times will be announced closer to the beginning date. The course options will range from beginner to advanced. If you are interested in participating in a course, please complete the following steps by Monday, January 13, 2025.

1. Determine which version of Excel you currently use:

  *   Open an Excel file
  *   Click the File tab in the top-left corner
  *   Click Account in the left sidebar
  *   Under Product Information, your version of Excel will be displayed

2. Determine your access key:

  *   Microsoft Office Excel 2010 -------------- LMDRQB8DNZ
  *   Microsoft Office Excel 2013 -------------- LMEGG35EL4
  *   Microsoft Office Excel 2016 -------------- LMIFEAEMTZ
  *   MS Excel 2019/Office 365 -------------- LMVQPLDSZZ

3. Complete assessment forms:
To place each participant in the correct course, we ask that you fill out 3 assessment forms. These forms ask a series of questions regarding the ability to use a particular Excel feature or function. It takes about 15 minutes to complete all 3 forms.

If you are a new user, enter your Access Key and click on the "Enroll" button to create an account.
  *   Once logged into your account, you will be presented with the Course Screen, which will list the courses corresponding with your access key.
  *   Click the course tile for your course to begin the assessment.
  *   Take a screenshot of your results from each assessment.

This free webinar, featuring Dr. Rachel Moon (University of Virginia School of Medicine) and Dr. Jonathan Midgett (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission), will review the current sleep product regulatory landscape and emphasize the importance of injury reporting mechanisms to improve the safety and well-being of infants and families. During this webinar, participants will learn from the experts on how to help parents and caregivers make informed decisions on safe sleep products, discover the role fatality review teams play in identifying product-related deaths, and understand the need and resources to report injuries and deaths to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
