Subject: [Fortimail Spam Detected] 3D Nation Study Draft Final State Summary Report

Hello Jacob,

Attached is the draft final summary report of your state’s requirements and benefits for the 3D Nation Study provided for your review and concurrence. It is based on the information your state provided to us in the online questionnaire,
plus the information you added during our follow up interviews and regional review. This narrative and summary will go into the final study report as well as into the study geodatabase.

As you know, this study is looking at both terrestrial and bathymetric elevation data needs. In many cases, the coastal and Great Lakes state narratives reflect an imbalance between terrestrial and likely bathymetric
elevation data needs. As you know, this study is looking at both, and so you will see that we have included some comments asking about the status or importance of bathymetry to your state. Please note that the narrative was probably written before the regional
review and adoption process and may not reflect those additions. You may have added business uses and mission critical activities that underscore bathymetric needs, but they are not yet summarized in the narrative.

Many of you also incorporated a map showing elevation data available and/or in work for your state--please double check these maps and update where new collections have taken place or will be collected in the coming
year.

We are providing a narrative “highlights” document that includes examples of good input from other states for your consideration. These may give you some ideas for ways to introduce your state and incorporate your current and future elevation
data requirements into the narrative.

Please review the narrative and the draft summary report and update the narrative as necessary. Please provide input and/or comments in the attached write-up using track changes. Feel free to forward to others as needed for input. If possible,
please consolidate all comments into a single document before sending it back. If you approve the content as-is, please respond to that effect for our records.

If you decide to share the state appendix with others, we recommend that you make clear that it only documents needs from the state government perspective. Aggregated uses by other respondents for your state will be available with the final
report.

Please try to respond by August 4, 2020.
