<p><font size=2 face=Arial><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial'>Our
friends and business partners at Washington DOT received some positive press
recently in the on-line trade journal "govtech.com" . Author Mary Jo
Wagner describes their statewide GIS transportation network project which they
named WaTrans. ODOT gets mentioned for "Constructive
Collaboration" near the end of the article. For those who may not be aware
<st1:State w:st="on">Oregon</st1:State>'s Transportation Framework
Implementation Team and ODOT have long worked in partnership with the WaTrans
team and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Oregon</st1:place></st1:State>
has its own parallel project named OrTrans. <st1:State w:st="on">Oregon</st1:State>
and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Washington</st1:place></st1:State>
share data models and technologies in implementing their compatible
transportation networks. Large portions of <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">Washington</st1:place></st1:State>'s project are funded through a
SPR pooled fund project which is funded through 6 state DOT's including ODOT. </span></font><o:p></o:p></p>
