Educators! Introduce Your Students to the Power of Place
(see a short, inspirational, student-focused video<https://vimeo.com/112652622>)
This August the King County GIS Center Training Program<http://www.kingcounty.gov/operations/GIS/Training.aspx> will offer two one-day workshops designed to connect teachers with digital mapping resources and limitless classroom GIS opportunities.

The first workshop, ArcGIS for Educators, is an entrée into the world of powerful geographic information system (GIS) desktop software tools that are available at low or no cost to schools<http://www.k12.wa.us/EdTech/EdSoftware/GIS.aspx>. This workshop provides teachers hands-on experience performing classroom-oriented geographic information analysis and mapping tasks using professional GIS software and datasets.
