[gis_info] Soils Data Standard public comment

The Oregon Soils Standard has been revised and is open for public comment until August 24, 2020.  You will find the standard at the link below, under the Draft Standards header.  The revisions were made by the Framework Soils Committee of the Geoscience Framework Implementation Team last year. The document was prepared for endorsement by the Oregon Geographic Information Council then, but the review period never happened and it was not brought forward to OGIC.  So the endorsement date on the cover of the document will change once the review process has been completed and it's taken back to OGIC for endorsement.

Several important changes have been made to this standard, including the removal of all references to incorporating ad hoc local and predictive modeled data that were included as part of the original vision but never realized, as well as file format specific requirements that are now out of date.
