Hello Everyone,
I'll make this my last posting regarding my Northwest GIS Conference
<https://nwgis.org/nwgis2021> online workshops, the main purpose of which
is to provide an update.
1. Date Change and TypeScript Overview
- The date for the JavaScript/TypeScript workshop has been changed to
Monday, November 8th.
- For anyone unfamiliar with TypeScript, you can find the official
documentation at https://www.typescriptlang.org/. A simpler description
is that it enhances the JavaScript development experience
- by adding optional typing (i.e., declaring that a variable must be,
for example, a number or a string, which improves code quality),
- by providing development assistance through, for example,
intellisense and error checking,
- by facilitating a better understanding of your code.
Understanding and using TypeScript will help improve your JavaScript
development skills.
- Using TypeScript is optional, but recommended, when working with the
ArcGIS API for JavaScript Version 4.x, but required for anyone wishing to
develop, for example, ArcGIS Experience Builder widgets.
- The workshop will provide a rich amount of information and experience
to get you started with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.x with both
JavaScript and TypeScript.

can be of assistance in any other way.
