This is the University of Washington GIS Certificate program's annual call for projects. As in past years, we are soliciting ideas from organizations and agencies around the pacific northwest (though we have done projects from farther afield). If you have a project idea that might be a good fit for a team of 3-4 students, we would appreciate hearing from you!

Utilizing our student teams is a great way to get some work done for your organization and, at the same time, provide valuable real-world experience for the students. As for quality of results, our program focuses on practical and professional execution of projects in a way that strongly mimics how a project would be executed in the workplace. We have had great success with the vast majority of our projects and many have gone on to win awards at the annual WAGISA conference and other conferences.

If you have a project in mind, please contact me with a brief description of the proposed project by the end of September (though, if you think of a project later than that, we would still like to hear from you!). Students will begin discussing projects towards the middle of October, and by mid-November all projects will have been selected. Projects kick off in January and conclude in June of 2023.

Lastly, please feel free to share this. It would be a great help to our call for projects. Thanks!
