As the year wraps up, it also means that January is right around the corner.  And what does that mean??? MOOCs will soon be starting up.  In addition to our MOOCs, the Esri Academy will be hosting a number of Live Training Seminars that are free as well.  These type of events are time/date driven, so be sure to register for the event you are interested in by clicking on the link(s) below.  The event can be tracked in MySchedule in the Esri Academy with a prompt to add to your calendar.

MOOCs and Training Seminars are perfect for those new to GIS, those that want to refresh their skills or explore new technology.

The 411:
What is a MOOC?
A MOOC refers to a Massive Open Online Course. Esri MOOCs:

  *   Cover a single theme or topic
  *   Allow students to study whenever they have time, at their own pace
  *   Encourage students to learn from one another
  *   Include videos, exercises, discussions, quizzes, polls and surveys
  *   Provide free access to the latest Esri software for the duration of the course
  *   Involve four to six weeks of instruction, with a minimum of two-three hours per week of study
  *   Require registration but are free to take
  *   Have firm start and end dates
  *   Provide certificates to students who complete the course material
  *   Introduce students to subject matter experts from across Esri and its community

Training Seminars

These presentations are recorded and usually made available within 24 hours of the live event.

Most training seminars are freely available for 30 days after they are presented live. After 30 days, they are available to individuals who have, or are members of an organization that has, an Esri qualifying product<https://www.esri.com/training/unlimited-esri-training/> with a current maintenance subscription.
