Hello GIS Professionals,
I'd like to invite you to attend the following online workshops, which I'll
be conducting in December:
- Introduction to Python Programming
- Part 1 - Monday, December 2nd, 2024 - 8:00 am-12:00 pm Pacific Time
- Part 2 - Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 - 8:00 am-12:00 pm Pacific Time
- Description and registration: https://nwgis.org/event-5914399
- Introduction to ArcGIS Pro Python Tools and Processes Development
- Part 1 - Thursday, December 5th, 2024 - 8:00 am-12:00 pm Pacific
Time
- Part 2 - Friday, December 6th, 2024 - 8:00 am-12:00 pm Pacific Time
- Description and registration: https://nwgis.org/event-5914418
For both workshops, please note:
- I'll send you the setup instructions well before the workshops
commence.
- You're welcome to sign up any time before the workshop starts. If you
have any trouble registering at the last minute, please let me know and
we'll work it out.
- If you do sign up at the last minute, please make sure you already
have the required software installed:
- ArcGIS Pro (latest or recent version)
If you're only attending the first workshop, any Python 3.x installation
will be fine.
- PyCharm *Community* Edition (not the Professional Edition, unless you
have the required license)
If you can't install PyCharm, Visual Studio Code is a good alternative.
- *Please note that the first workshop is a prerequisite requirement for
the second workshop, unless your level of experience is sufficient to
justify a waiver of this requirement. Please get in touch if you would like
to discuss such a waiver.*
The nature of these workshops is as much coaching as it is teaching, in
that, rather than working through fixed exercises, attendees seem to prefer
to follow along as I give explanations and demos. This allows for an
engaging and flexible approach, with discussion and experimentation greatly
enhancing the collective experience.
I'm most grateful to the Northwest GIS User Group for supporting the
provision of these workshops and I highly encourage you to support the
organization by becoming a member and an active participant. Please visit
their website https://nwgis.org/ for details.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks.
David
