Greetings GPL,
FYI, next week the Oregon Coastal and Marine Data Network is having a 2-day meeting at the Corvallis public library. The first day of this meeting will be roughly analogous to a FIT meeting for the newly formed Coastal-Marine FIT. The second day will be a special thematic workshop focusing on data sharing via catalogs. You can read more about the event background and agenda outlines on the relevant registration pages:
* Oregon Network & West Coast Activities - Tuesday, October 30, 2012
Day one will be similar to our previous network meetings, and will cover network activities and progress since we last met. If you have never been to an OCMDN network meeting and would like to learn about what this community is all about, and what activities might be on the horizon, view the agenda and register for this day here: http://ocmdn3.eventbrite.com/
* Data Sharing: Connecting the Dots - Wednesday, October 31, 2012
Day two will be a special thematic day focusing specifically on the topic of "Data sharing via Catalogs". If you have attended prior network meetings and are interested in data sharing either from the perspective of a producer of coastal and marine data, or as a user of such data, or if you are simply interested in the topic of standards-based catalogs, view the agenda and register for this day here: http://ocmdn3b.eventbrite.com/
Both days are open to all, however you must register for each day individually so we can track attendance and plan for materials needed. Detailed agendas will be mailed out via Eventbrite to folks who are registered later this week.
Feel free to circulate this announcement to any others within your organizations who might be interested.
