All,
If you're interested in checking out Pictometry's products or seeing what Marion County is doing with this new imagery, you're welcome to attend this event tomorrow morning. It is planned to last ~ 1 hr.
Also - if you're interested in using Marion Co. imagery, I'm told you will need to "buy in" to the product.
(I'm forwarding the email without attachments due to the list serve restrictions.)

Invitation
Marion County Pictometry Project and Demonstration
Where: Keizer Civic Center, Iris B room
930 Chemawa Rd NE, Keizer, OR (directions attached)
When: 10:00am Wednesday, February 24th
Who: Please bring anyone interested in regional imagery.
Marion County and Pictometry have been working together for some time now on a project to get a high quality set of imagery covering Marion County. At this demonstration Pictometry and Marion County will have multiple technical staff to demonstrate their imagery, viewers, integration abilities, additional services, and cost.
Where is the project at? Marion County has contracted with Pictometry for the first flight of imagery. A basic map of the project area is attached. The flight will cover the populated area of Marion County including up the Santiam Canyon with both orthogonal and oblique imagery. The resolution of the most populated areas including the Interstate 5 corridor will be 3 inches per pixel. The resolution of the remaining areas will be 9 inches per pixel. This will be considered leaf off imagery and the flight has already begun.
This project is using a State of Oregon contract. State and local jurisdictions as well as utility companies can be named on the contract and would have access to the data and viewers. At this time Marion County is looking for partners to help fund additional products that would add value such as building outlines. Becoming a partner at some level to help with additional processing and to make this sustainable and repeatable on a two or three year rotation is our goal.
Thank you,
Tom Rohlfing, Assessor
