[gpl_list] Framework Financial Analysis Work Group formation

Hello everyone,

As you are likely aware, the passing of HB 2906 into Oregon Revised Statute 276A means that there is a need to develop a funding mechanism for Framework data sharing among public bodies. In order to complete this work, the costs associated with "completing" Oregon's Framework need to be determined.

I am seeking members for a new Framework work group to examine the costs and finances around Oregon's Framework. Please see the attached draft charter, to be revised and completed by the work group, to learn more about this opportunity to realize Oregon's GIS Framework. If you're interested in helping with this work, please respond to me at your earliest convenience or by April 19 of your interest or your questions. Feel free to pass this email on to people you think would be interested and helpful, such as your theme groups and knowledgeable staff.
To give you a little more background, the Oregon Geographic Information Council has formed the Resources Work Group to develop and propose a funding mechanism. The work group will require detailed cost information about Framework data elements and themes. A first step in this effort was to understand the status of Oregon's Framework from the statewide level. These information are being collected using the 2018 Framework Data Inventory and Assessment survey. A subsequent step is to determine the costs associated with "completing" Oregon's Framework. The Framework Financial Analysis Work Group will align closely with the Council's Resources Work Group.
