- Event date: November 14, 2018

- Event time: 10:00 - 3:00

- Goal is to demonstrate the benefits and efficiencies from using framework and show what is currently beyond our capability.

- Theresa B. will send out a survey to help draw out use cases

- We anticipate having 5 - 6 tables at Capitol for presentations with power and wifi access.

Discussion

- Susan Blohm noted:

- In setting up these events with City of Salem recommend the following steps

- Identify the focus

- Identify the audience

- Groups invited, legislators, classes, city staff, etc

- Publicity and outreach especially educational institutions, county commission, city council

- As part of the legislative push be sure to reach out to local government leads

- At the City we generally reach out to local staff on how we can do job better

- How is best for City of Salem role at this event?

Use Cases

- Need to identify use cases with a table for each use case

- Cy Smith example. City of Portland Pavement Inventory or something similar

- Specific benefits derived by address points dataset

- We should soon register on the esri site where there are additional resources

- Consider how the use cases could be presented

- Rachel Smith asked about our consideration of developing use cases from the resources work group?

- Cy Smith suggested we consider examples showing framework infrastructure data as essential component in addressing natural resource issue such as Sage Grouse.

- One page use cases where the material will be helpful in promoting the framework data utility and be reused many times.

Tables Ideas

- 1) What is GIS?

- 2) What is Framework data?

- 3) City/Local Government

- 4) Participating State Agencies such as Revenue, Transportation all have potential topics. Forestry work with fire this season would be an interesting demonstration too. We will continue to draw upon these initial ideas.

- The City presence really helps highlight the vertical integration of framework efforts. In addition it would be very beneficial to have a Regional government perspective as well. Cy Smith will contact Lesley at MWCOG and also reserve space at Capitol.

Other

- Bring laptops, projectors, display boards and cartographic examples
