Hi all.

As part of the GDMS project, there is a little side task that is related to data development that was put in the scope of the project. (before I was hired at DAS)  We haven’t talked about it because we’ve been focused on other higher priority items.  But the time has come for me to start working on it.

We need to document the supply chain (data development workflow) for 10 datasets.  We have three data development scenarios to focus on and ‘spread the love’.

  1.  A state agency creates the data in-house.
  2.  A state agency is aggregating data from outside sources to create a statewide dataset
  3.  A regional gov’t is aggregating data that is then provided to a state agency or someone else to aggregate into a statewide dataset

I will reach out to some COGs for #3.  I’m looking for volunteers for the data development scenarios #1 and #2 above.

The task involves 3 meetings for each dataset (unless you have more than 1 dataset to document):  an initial 1-2 hr. meeting, a 2nd 1 hr. meeting to review the draft document of your dataset, and a 3rd meeting to review the final product and provide feedback on the supply chain template.  The 3 meetings need to take place in March, April, and early May.  Lots of time to do this task and should be minimal effort on your part.

Timmons is tasked with facilitating the meetings and creating one or more template(s) that can be used for future datasets.  So your feedback is needed on the template design, ease of use, etc.

Let me know if this is something you’d be interested in volunteering for and what dataset you’d like to use.  Ideally these are Framework data elements, but I won’t be picky at this point. 😊
