Hi Everyone,

DAS GEO has a new draft geocoding service available for testing! Instructions for using it with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro are attached. You can also use this link -

The old DAS geocoding service will still be available too so that none of your applications break. The new geocoder works differently than the old one. The new geocoder uses data from the Oregon Department of Emergency Management in a multirole locator that combines both the address points (1.9 million) and street centerlines (288,000) and will be updated quarterly. The old geocoder was a composite locator made up of eight layers including address points, street centerlines from ORTRANS and NAVTEQ, and others and was last updated in 2019. The new geocoding service should produce fewer candidates but higher quality candidates than the old service. There will be no results for city limit or ZIP Code centroids with the new service.

The plan is to take it slow and give you plenty of time to test the new geocoder service. The old geocoder can run in parallel for as long as it is needed but will eventually be replaced. The test period will run for about a month. Give it a try and let me know what your results are by June 15th. Also let me know if you have any questions, problems, or comments.
