[gpl_list] GIS Day Update / Final Call for Interest

Hi all.

We had a group of 7 people meet today to discuss a potential GIS Day Event for November 15, 2023 and I want to provide you all with an update.

Key Details:

  *   We've decided to do a virtual event.
  *   Audience = the public
  *   Presentation lengths =  30min to 1 hour
  *   Can be a pre-recorded presentation; could also do a walk-thru of a StoryMap
  *   We will do one or more press releases using our PIOs to get the public's attention to the virtual event.

If any of you were on the fence about participating but would like to consider it now that you have the above details, please talk to your manager (if needed) and consider what presentation you would give that would engage the public.  Ie... why GIS matters, how your agency uses GIS/tools you create for the public to use, etc.

Let me know if you'd like to participate.  Our next planning meeting is October 2nd  1-2pm.
