Subject: SeaSketch survey - open thru Jan 24
Greetings Working Group members,
NOAA is in the process of migrating from the U.S. Mapping Coordination site<http://seasket.ch/O0v-HKkrjY> - commonly called "SeaSketch" - to a new Federal Mapping Coordination platform. The Mapping Coordination site is a central resource for interagency and external stakeholder mapping data needs and requirements, mapping priorities, and mapping data acquisition plans. Moving away from the SeaSketch platform in early 2025 presents an opportunity for the mapping communities associated with regional and national mapping campaigns like the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) and 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP), to shape the site's future and functionality. The U.S. Mapping Coordination site supports the 3D National Topography Model (3DNTM) Data Collaboration Announcement (DCA)<https://usgs.gov/3DNTM/DCA> process by providing a place to publicly share Federal agency priorities for 3DEP and 3DHP data collection.

The NOAA Integrated Ocean and Coastal Mapping team is requesting feedback from stakeholders to influence the site redesign. You can provide feedback by completing this NOAA form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzauYV6zj27csq86XYHSx15DlCfQYl8voXwYLTMzdWr_21Mg/viewform The survey will be open through January 24, 2025.

As background, the site has three main goals to:
·         enable anyone to share their data needs/priorities to inform data acquisition strategies;
·         allow data collectors to share areas of recent data acquisition, preliminary plans, and final plans;
· provide a place for all parties to work together to develop smarter mapping data acquisition strategies, including refining project areas and requirements to "map once, use many times" and eliminate redundant efforts to acquire data.

Please share this information as appropriate within your organization. Your input to the future of the U.S. Mapping Coordination Website<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfzauYV6zj27csq86XYHSx15DlCfQYl8voXwYLTMzdWr_21Mg/viewform> is appreciated!
