[gpl_list] Question Regarding Drones and GIS

Hey Daniel,

If you haven't already recommend that your agency review ORS 837.3xx and specifically the Public Body requirements in 837.360 and 837.362.

There is a State Agency UAS group and we meet quarterly to share and discuss program/agency level impacts. We generally don't get into specific applications, data processing, or software, but it's a useful venue to learn and share information about state UAS programs and stay informed about policy level issues at the state and federal level. A rough list of participating agencies includes ODAV, BIZ OR, ODF, ODOT, OSP, OPRD, DSL, DEQ, DLCD. In terms of a GIS standard for the indexing of drone captured data, I've been suggesting that folks use the Oregon Aerial Imagery Index Data Standard<https://www.oregon.gov/eis/geo/OGIC%20Approved%20Data%20Standards/Aerial-Imagery-Index-Data-Standard-v1.08-2010.pdf> as a starting point.

I'd be happy to share some of our narrow use cases for drone data and processing approaches if you're interested but wanted to share this other information with all of GPL in case other's have similar questions.

Good morning GPL,

We're working on a project here at our agency revolving around drones and developing some standards associated with drones and GIS. I did want to reach out to other agencies to see what might already exist out there. With that said, can you let me know who some appropriate folks would be from your agency that might be working with drones and their integration with GIS tools, software, and data?

I will admit that I have not processed any drone information, so we're very much looking at the basics and some important considerations for these tools. Thanks in advance for anyone that can provide some help!
