Hi folks, we’ve been trying to follow up on the Bing in ArcGIS issue. As some of you may have seen this past week, an announcement was made by Esri that Bing imagery will continue to be available in ArcGIS until
the end of this year. However, the issue remains, we just have a bit longer to figure things out. One key issue I’ve heard with Esri’s World Imagery is that it takes longer for the imagery to load and refresh than Bing. I can’t remember who specifically
said this, but as you can see from the message below, Esri has some questions about it. If you’ve experienced this issue, please let me know how to answer the questions below. Thanks!

I have started to look into this question, I found two threads that mention web base map performance comparisons and as you would expect I need a few more details to know how to proceed.

Yes, the performance for the World Imagery map (and other base map) should be comparable to Bing and other popular tiled map services. We typically see tile requests in 0.2s response time per request.

It would be good to confirm what client application they are using (e.g. ArcGIS.com map viewer, ArcMap, etc.). If it is a Desktop application, perhaps they can test on ArcGIS.com to see how the performance compares.
