The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) is a non-profit organization that advocates on the behalf of all 562 federally recognized tribes in an effort to provide quality health care.  The NIHB promotes and provides public health in Indian Country; however, conversations with tribal leaders and community members have indicated that many individuals are unaware of what public health really is.
