[Health_Education_Promotion] Minutes from Section Meeting

Happy Friday everyone!
 
As promised, below you will find the minutes from The Community Health
Education and Promotion Section Meeting from this year's OPHA Annual
Conference:  
 CHES: Adrienne gave a brief overview of the professional certification
that people with a health related undergraduate or graduate degree may
be interested in pursuing. Adrienne explained that CHES certification is
often required or highly desired for health education positions. In
addition, CHES requires certified professionals to attend various
training seminars and conferences which help to further one*s
professional knowledge and skills.  For more information visit:

OPHA Section Site: Adrienne game a brief overview of the resources

The Toolbox is a place where we can share important resources. Feel free
to send me any resources you would like for me to include. The Profile
Page is a place where we can share information on our own individual
backgrounds, for networking purposes. If you need to update your current
profile, I have attached a word document of the version that is
currently online. Feel free to modify and send back. If you would like
to be included in this document, please feel free to send me your bio by
November 5th. 
Attendee Introductions
Ice Breaker Game - making networking fun. See "Find Someone Who"

Tara Chetock discussed the Oregon EPHT Facebook page and encouraged the
section to attend her presentation later in the day which will focus on
her social media outreach plan.

Liz encouraged the section to follow the Oregon Family Planning Program

   5.   Adrienne informed section members that there is an opening for
secretary. This position has since been filled by Tara Chetock. Thanks
for recording the minutes, Tara! 
 
If anyone is interested in acting as the section Treasurer, please let
me know.
