> Open Adoption & Family Services (OA&FS) is a nonprofit agency with a progressive approach to building healthy families. Through our options counseling program, OA&FS supports expectant parents in making decisions about their pregnancy in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. When the choice is adoption, we facilitate child-centered open adoptions. In addition to options counseling, we offer comprehensive adoption services to birth and adoptive parents.
> Child-centered open adoption begins with a close and trusting relationship between birthparents and adoptive parents. This unique partnership acknowledges the parties’ mutual respect and shared love for the child, as well as their separate and distinct roles. With our support and guidance, birthparents and adoptive families create healthy long-term relationships addressing the ongoing needs of the child.
> OA&FS is licensed in Oregon and Washington, with offices in Seattle, Portland and Eugene and contracted social workers in Eastern Oregon and Washington. Regarded as the premier open adoption agency in the Northwest, we have over 27 years’ experience facilitating child-centered open adoptions. OA&FS completes the most domestic infant and newborn adoptions in Oregon and Washington.
> We are a progressive, pro-choice agency. Additionally, we place with same-gender and different-gender couples, as well as single persons wishing to adopt.
