The Washington State Department of Health, Division of Prevention and
Community Health - Office of Healthy Communities is searching for an
innovative and collaborative public health professional to fill the
position of Community Based Prevention Section Manager.  This position is
located in Tumwater, Washington.  (Recruitment # DOH2470)

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Healthy Communities, the
Community Based Prevention Section Manger is responsible for providing
oversight, vision, management and direction of the Community Based
Prevention Section in the Office of Healthy Communities.  This position
provides leadership and direction in setting the overall section focus.
S/he is responsible for developing and implementing innovative programs and
policies to support healthy eating, active living, and tobacco free living
and strategies related to oral health, heart disease, stroke and diabetes
prevention and the emerging work of marijuana education and prevention.

The Community Based Prevention Section Manager must demonstrate significant
degree of vision and independent decision-making to manage the program
areas and administrative staff.  S/he integrates the programs and staff
within the section and office to achieve efficiencies in staffing,
community impact and reduction of disease burden.  This position is a key
member of the office management team.  S/he collaborates and participates
with the team members to contribute to the office direction and is
responsible for a staff of seven (7) direct reports.
