The Public Health Division's Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section (HPCDP) is seeking a full-time Community Programs Liaison to help promote community change to decrease tobacco use, increase physical activity, assure access to healthy foods, and promote access to chronic disease self-management programs. In this role, you will join a large team of dedicated professionals tackling some of Oregon's greatest health challenges within the state's public health system.

Today, nutritious food, places to play and be active, and smokefree air are out of reach for too many Oregonians, particularly for people of color and people living with fewer financial resources. As a result, chronic diseases such as asthma, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, and cancer are on the rise. HPCDP is tackling chronic disease prevention with a community-wide approach to help people eat better, move more, live tobacco free, and take care of themselves.

  *   Experience providing training and technical assistance to diverse program partners.
  *   Experience brokering relationships and partnerships to achieve a shared objective and goal among diverse constituents.
  *   Experience monitoring programs, grants or contracts for compliance and quality assurance.
  *   Experience balancing a variety of assignments.
  *   Good verbal and written communication skills.
