> Oregon’s historic land use planning program is often considered to be one of the most comprehensive and effective at reducing sprawl and planning for livable communities in the nation. This webinar focuses on what public health officials need to know about Oregon’s planning program (and it’s good information for planning commissioners to know too). The webinar will teach participants about Oregon’s historic land use planning program, the relationship between state and local regulations, comprehensive plan basics, as well as how public health officials can influence the land use process to increase active transportation (that’s the wonky terminology to say “increase biking and walking”) and improve community health.
