Informational Interviewing: More Than Just Getting the Job
Presented by Amanda Parsons

Workshop Description: Informational interviewing is about more than just finding the perfect job - it is also about finding a career that interests you and is able to meet your professional and personal goals. Join this discussion for an in depth look at what an informational interview can do for you and learn how this practice can be used for more than job searching. This session will include a presentation followed by hands-on goal setting and practicing your own pitch with others.

Speaker BIO: Amanda Parsons graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Community Health Education after deciding to pursue a career change. Before and after the decision to commit to a life of public service she met with many people and developed a strong strategy for informational interviews which she has passed along to many students during her role as a peer advisor at PSU. When not bugging people about their professional lives, Amanda enjoys yoga and vegan brunch in Portland.
