Evaluative measures are incorporated at the very beginning of the program planning process, and continue during implementation as the program is managed and sustained. Ongoing evaluation is a means of providing regular feedback to program staff, stakeholders and participants. Results are used to inform modifications to goals and justify changes to services. </span><br><span></span><br><span> </span><br><span></span><br><span>This symposium will cover how to assess whether a health promotion program (or related program or service) is achieving the desired results, and the benefits of systematically collecting information in order to answer evaluation questions and guide program decisions. </span><br><span></span><br><span> </span><br><span></span><br><span>The Evaluation Symposium presenter, Dr. Frances Marcus Lewis, is a noted evaluation methodologist and an expert in health behavior theory. She’s a professor in the Department of Family and Child Nursing at University of Washington, and the recipient of the Virginia and Prentice Bloedel Professorship.
