institutions like schools is a major thrust of Ecotrust's food and farms work.
In their farm to school work, they partner with a wide range of school
districts, focusing on low-income schools and preschools to ensure that all
children have access to healthy, local food. Ecotrust advocates for policies
that strengthen Oregon’s agricultural economy and create local jobs.</p>

speak about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and their effect on the food
supply. A nursing professor at Oregon Health and Science University, Dr.
Wallace is a member of the Institute for Responsible Technology, which educates
policy makers and the public about genetically modified food and crops.</p>

</span></span></span>The mission of <span class="">Urban</span> <span class="">Gleaners</span> is to help alleviate hunger by collecting edible,
surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away and redistributing it to
agencies that feed the hungry. The concept of picking up and redistributing
food is a simple weapon in the fight against hunger. Hunger is less a problem
of scarce resources but rather inefficient distribution.</p>
