Hi there!

My name is Sarah Martien. I am the Director for the Center for Diversity and Health Equity at Seattle Children's Hospital. One of our strategic goals this year is improving health literacy. We are beginning by focusing on asthma and
medication safety.

Our goal is to create a new series of simplified information sheets using pictures and fewer words on reading a medication label and how to remember when to take a given medication and how much to take. We also would like to create simplified
materials for asthma instructions - how to use an inhaler and when to use it as well as what time of day.

The audience for these materials would be LEP families and families with low health literacy.

I'm hoping the listserv might be able to share a few examples of literature you use for families for asthma and medication safety that are simplified, using pictures and with limited words. Any and all examples are welcome.
