[HealthyTribes] Powerful New Anti-tobacco TV Ads Launch

Hello grantees,

As some of you many know, the four anti-tobacco televisions ads that will
make up TPEP's fall ad campaign hit the airwaves a few days ago. The ads
will run through December of this year.

The ads offer powerful and even shocking images of and information on the
results of tobacco addiction. TPEP chose to use these ads, three of which
are graphic, because they elicited strong emotions when focus group tested
and were found to be most likely to inspire tobacco users to quit.

Oregon Health Authority has been doing media outreach about the ads and you
might get questions.

Attached is the press release that was sent out and talking points to help
you if someone asks you about the ads.  The talking points are not meant to
be distributed, rather they are to assist you.

If you are curious about the effectiveness of ad campaigns for public health
issues, I have also attached a one-pager that offers some interesting
insights.
