Hello,

Last week¹s Oregonian story about cigarette butt litter being the
most-picked-up item during the SOLV beach clean-up got us thinking about
ways to leverage this sobering statistic.

Attached please find a sample letter to the editor linking to this news, and
tying in the need to create tobacco-free outdoor spaces for the good of our
children. It¹s written to apply in every Oregon community, from the coast to
the mountains. We hope you can recruit a local signer and submit this to
your local paper.

Your MG TA team, HPCDP liaisons and Jonathan Modie are standing by to help
if you need suggestions for signers or ways to localize this piece.

Thanks,
Jennifer and the MG team
